AEROSIL^® makes use of the smallest of things. The smallest particles of some AEROSIL^® grades measure no more than seven nanometers - a human hair is 3,000 times thicker. So small yet so great: The smaller the particles, the greater their effect and range of uses for later applications.

These numerous application possibilities are reflected in AEROSIL^®’s uniquely extensive product range. Without pyrogenic oxides, many everyday things would be unthinkable. AEROSIL^® products can also be found, for instance, in the cosmetics industry, where, for example, the temperature stability of lipsticks is increased. They are also used in the production of high-sea yachts and in the electronics industry. Equally, AEROSIL^® is used in silicone sealants which can be found in any bathtub or in car paints. In this case, pyrogenic oxides result in thixotropy, low moisture absorption, mechanical stability and the optimization of rheological properties.

In our research centres, we work to devise new solutions for a very wide array of products which, in turn, will lead to continuing developments of our customers' own products. We invest in future-oriented and innovative applications so we can share these expanding markets with our customers. Due to the fact that AEROSIL^® displays such a high level of versatility, it might well be that tomorrow we will be active in markets which we know nothing about today.
