Pioneering chapters in the history of Degussa have been written in Frankfurt, the economic and financial metropolis on the River Main. For 128 years until the merger of Degussa-Hüls AG with SKW Trostberg AG to form the new Degussa AG in February 2001, the fortunes of the company have been guided from Frankfurt. The Group headquarters in the city center in Frankfurt underwent many changes during the big mergers. As a result of the second merger, Frankfurt lost its status as headquarters for the company and the Group to Dusseldorf. However, it remains a key administration site for Evonik Degussa GmbH and headquarter of the Business Unit Aerosil & Silanes. Frankfurt is the birthplace and home of the former Degussa AG. |
