Food additive certification

Hydrophilic AEROSIL^®, fumed, amorphous silica comply with 21 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations, USA) § 172.480. ”Silicon dioxide“ is noted there as ”anti-caking agent“ which ”may be safely used with a limit of <2 percent“.

As we know from typical data, the fumed, amorphous silica AEROSIL^® 200 F and AEROSIL^® 380 F are in line with the requirements of the food additives EU-directives 2000/63/EC resp. 2001/30/EC for E 551. Furthermore the hygiene requirements according to EC/178/2002 resp. EC/852/2004 (HACCP) are fulfilled and certified by an official certifying organization.
