Food molds made of silicone rubber are not only highly flexible at extremely low temperatures to – 40 °C, but can also be used in temperatures up to 200 °C. 

AEROSIL® products play an important role as an active reinforcement component in food molds made of, e.g. HCR or LSR silicone rubber, for example in ice cube trays or baking molds. Above all, the use of AEROSIL® grades or special fumed metal oxides result in excellent thermal properties, such as flexibility in cold conditions and heat resistance.  Evonik's AEROXIDE® TiO2 P 25 and AEROXIDE® TiO2 PF 2 are two specialty oxides for silicone rubber systems that serve as heat stabilizers for high-temperature applications.
