AEROSIL® FUMED SILICA – Beneficial for thermal properties
AEROSIL® fumed silica and AEROXIDE® fumed oxides give temperatures the cold shoulder
High flexibility at low temperatures
Improved heat stability thanks to metal oxides
AEROSIL® fumed silica and AEROXIDE® fumed oxides in flexible and temperature-resistant food molds
Food molds made of silicone rubber are not only highly flexible at extremely low temperatures to – 40 °C, but can also be used in temperatures up to 200 °C.
AEROSIL® products play an important role as an active reinforcement component in food molds made of, e.g. HCR or LSR silicone rubber, for example in ice cube trays or baking molds. Above all, the use of AEROSIL® grades or special fumed metal oxides result in excellent thermal properties, such as flexibility in cold conditions and heat resistance. Evonik's AEROXIDE® TiO2 P 25 and AEROXIDE® TiO2 PF 2 are two specialty oxides for silicone rubber systems that serve as heat stabilizers for high-temperature applications.
AEROSIL® fumed silica in and around the car
Silicone systems have become an integral part of automotive design. Whether in the engine, drive system, cooling system, in electronics or the car body: Silicones are in the fast lane thanks to their extraordinary, highly specialized properties.
RTV-1C silicone systems are particularly well suited for sealing engine compartments because they maintain their elasticity even in the presence of permanent high temperatures of up to 275 °C.
